The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu has urged Policemen to go back to duty as not all civilians hate them.

The IGP who spoke today at the Lagos State Command after an on-the-spot assessment of attacked Police Stations accros the state and visit to injured Policemen in hospitals, said that the Force is a special organization that is trained not to be provoked;

“You are very special people, trained not to be provoked, so you should not be provoked. We have lost lives but we have to realised that not all the civilians attacked us. You should go back to work.”

Details later…

This statement should be DETAILED and "debriefed" so that ALL Nigerians (both civilian and security forces) would take the appropriate view and mindset towards a better scenario for ALL Nigerians.

Anarchy is NOT in anyone's interest. NONE will benefit from it.
So, it is in our collective interest that anarchy be avoided.

In that spirit, police in particular, should return to their duty posts, PROVIDED that "duty post" is NOT an illegal checkpoint.

Those 300 checkpoints police used to have in the South East zone should NEVER be allowed to return because they are choke-points for extortion of innocent citizens.

I repeat, those chokepoints called checkpoints SHOULD BE A THING OF THE PAST, because they contributed in no small measure to the combustive anger that fuelled the killing of police personnel, the destruction of police stations, and the looting of public and private businesses.

Nigerian police MUST develop a new modus operandi and mindset in dealing with Nigerians, because the people have literally "tasted blood" (like a domesticated wolf). You need to be careful with the people of Nigeria going forward.

Be professional.
Do not extort.
Do not kill people unlawfully.
Do not abuse the people.
And ALL good things shall follow.

A word is enough for the wise!

Meanwhile #EndSARS, #Endpolicebrutality #EndbadgovernanceinNigeria.
