Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reassured supporters that he would be attending his mother’s funeral in South East Nigeria.

According to the Igbo separatist leader, who spoke through the director of media and publicity secretary for the group, Emma Powerful, he is not afraid to come and give his mother her last respects.

Although he says that the date for the funeral has not been fixed, he assured that when it is done he would not only be present but will also will accord his mother a befitting burial.

According to Powerful “The decision regarding our leader’s coming home to Biafraland during his mother’s burial has not been concluded. It is important we communicate properly to the general public that as soon as the arrangement for the coming of our leader is perfected he will come ho e.”

Powerful informed IPOB members not to panic or be confused on the new Jewish code of dressing by its members who he said have places of worship across several places in the South East.

“We commend the Jewish prayer group in Owerri yesterday for their doggedness and decipline,” Powerful said.

He added “Those with white garments and Jewish caps in Owerri yesterday are our church members. They were coming back from church service. We have branches all over the place in Biafraland.

“They were embarking on a sensitisation movement to let the world and Jewish community know that our people need Biafra to become an independent nation,” Powerful said.

It is important that Kanu goes home to bury his mother.
IMHO it is even CRITICALLY IMPORTANT that Kanu goes home.

Won't he be arrested by DSS for treason?

Won't he be arrested by DSS for treason?

Very GOOD question, and here is my answer to that:

At a point, the people in Nigeria must decide whether they want a country where everybody is equal or not.

Kanu's coming home will be the ultimate test of that.

Know why I said that?

Well, TWO events forced me to start thinking differently about what Nigeria may be in reality.

I had thought that Nigeria is a country where everybody is equal before the law even if the laws are flawed.
At least apply the flawed laws equally. But that is NOT what is happening in Nigeria.

The first event was when the governor of Bauchi state was saying IN THIS THREAD LINKED HERE that Fulani's from outside Nigeria are envisaged to partake in the NLTP (a purely Nigerian funded initiative). He said it what a sense of calm, confidence and dismissal, that Fulanis do not recognize international borders. That statement, is treason because it totally dismissed the idea of a Nigeria country (I would never use "nation" to qualify Nigeria).
By that statement, he singlehandedly dismissed the Nigerian constitution.
Did heavens fall? Nope.
The man is still there, and I can almost assure you that he spoke the minds of Fulanis in Nigeria.
So, he is free to say what his people really think about Nigeria.

The second case is when the Miyetti Allah leader said clearly that he and his group would not recognize the orders issued by South East leaders banning movement of cows by foot in the region.
He essentially dismissed the governors' orders  and even went ahead to threaten Benue state on the law banning open grazing in that state.

One would have ignored his statement as irrelevant, BUT lo and behold, the LATEST REPORT we read some days ago stated that Fulani herdsmen killed more Nigerians than Boko Haram in 2018.

The question any sensible person would ask at this point is this: WHERE HAS THE DSS BEEN IN THESE INSTANCES?

I know that the DSS tend to compare itself with the FBI in the US, and I just laugh because a man should not cry (apologies to Fela in his "looku and lafu" song); but pray tell me if a group can kill Americans in the US as Fulani herdsmen have done in Nigeria with totally impunity.
Which group remotely operates in the US as the Fulani herdsmen have done in Nigeria?

At a point that self deceit start costing human lives, decent humans are supposed to speak up, call it by its appropriate name.

Nnamdi kanu is NOT speaking for himself, and this fact is known to the DSS.

He is speaking the minds of at least 40 million Nigerians (as they currently are still Nigerian citizens).
How do I know this fact?

Well, if a referendum were to be conducted in the East (even if only Igboland) today, are you telling me that you would not get above 90% in support of a Biafra nation? I mean really?

So, if you can get 90% in support of Biafra in a referendum, is Kanu then speaking for himself?
Isn't he the voice of a nation?

If Fulani nationalists can speak freely about ways they advance their own ethnic interests, why would the DSS only develop a hardon when Kanu speaks for the Igbo nation?

If 2 million Igbo suddenly descend on the DSS headquarters, what can the DSS do about it?

Everything I'm saying here and now took me DAYS to think over and they are my core beliefs which I can say ANYWHERE in the world even in the middle of the DSS headquarters.

You know why? Because they are CORE TRUTHS.

Core truths survive forever no matter what.

So, Nnamdi Kanu should go home to bury his mother even if heavens fall.
