#EndBadGovernmentinNIGERIA: Something is changing in Nigeria. The Youths Must Stay the Course

When was the last time you saw Nigerians of any demography demonstrate safely in the streets of Nigeria for days without the security agencies shooting at them?

I have NEVER seen it happen in my decades of living as a Nigerian.

For weeks now, Nigerians are in the streets demonstrating for a change in their fortunes as free citizens of Nigeria.

As they dish out demands, they stick to it and never let go...

And the police and other security agencies are not killing any one.

Do you know why they are not doing so?

It is because foreign countries are starting to stand with ordinary Nigerians...

Some of the foreign countries have threatened visa bans.

Ordinarily, visa bans should not perturb anyone in government, right?

If you think that, then you do not understand how those bans work!

Those bans are usually the first in a loooooooooooooooong list of actions that those foreign countries usually take to bring targeted people to justice.

They go from visa bans, to targeted sanctions, and to progressively ratchet it up the heat, to dragging someone to the ICC at The Hague!

As past US president George Bush Jnr said of terrorists hiding in Afghan caves: “we smoke them out of their holes, we get them running, and then we catch them!”. That is how such things work.

These Nigerian security operatives know this fact, and that is why they are standing down and not killing Nigerians as usual.

But what Nigerians should now do for themselves is to stay in those streets until ALL their demands are met.

Do you want better: schools, healthcare system, security system, freedom of association and speech, public accountability, good government, jobs and economic opportunity improvement, etc?

If you want all these, then, NEVER EVER leave the streets until we get the type of government that is credible, accountable to the people,  and qualified to deliver them!

The only way to get such government is to GET THE RIGHT SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT in place.

The system we have now can only deliver corruption, strife, death and destruction.

Think about it for a second, Nigeria has never really known peace in over 5 decades!

Nigeria cannot even enjoy “ordinary” 24/7 electricity for 60 years!
Has NEVER happened!

Think about that…

Is that not a systemic problem?

We need a system that works for ALL Nigerians, not the few that rule over the rest.

Now that the people have woken up and risen up, they should stay the course until real change comes.

The people will know the real change when they see it.

Who no like better tin?

Enough of dis suffering jare, biko!
