Buhari won’t rig Anambra election for you, APGA tells APC

By Vincent Ujumadu – Awka

The national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Oye, has advised the Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, to stop boasting that his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, would take over Anambra State in the November 6 by known and unknown forces, saying the governor would be disappointed because President Muhammadu Buhari would not rig the election for APC.

Addressing reporters at Amawbia in Awka South local government area of Anambra State, Oye described the utterances of some APC officials as daydreaming.

Oye said: “People are just painting the President in a very bad light and I am not happy about that. President Buhari is not that kind of leader that will influence elections.

“If it is the Buhari I know very well, he won’t support anything that will cause chaos or crisis in this state. Buhari is an honourable man who loves progress.

“President Buhari doesn’t interfere in any elections if he does he would have interfered in that of Edo, but he didn’t. Hope Uzodimma and his team went to Edo and nobody knew when they left Benin.

“When they saw the result trickling in, they disappeared before morning. The same thing will happen here in Anambra because we have the capacity to protect our votes.

“The forthcoming election is all about performance. The people angling for the position in APC don’t have the pedigree, mental capacity and vision. They have noting to offer to the state.

“We have been in the business for a very long time. So we can read the pulse of the nation politically. I don’t see any strong contender for this office against APGA. That office is divinely made for APGA.

“In 2017, it was the same story everywhere, with people shouting APC, PDP. I told them the election would end in 21/21 and it was so. The one coming now is unopposed. It is my prophetic utterance, write it anywhere.

“It is God that made kings and it is he that made Obiano king over the people of the state.

“Obiano has performed excellently. He has shown leadership, prudence in the management of state scarce resources.

“It is only natural that he appoints a successor who will take over from him and then present him to the people for confirmation through their votes. That’s how it’s done. Its is not something you can contest for.”

Well, I don't know about Buhari being "an honourable man who loves progress".  What I agree with is that Buhari (like any other Nigerian president for that matter) would not support any actions whose consequences are too unpredictable and too dire for Nigeria.

People like governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state don't seem to understand certain things. For example, Uzodimma doesn't seem to notice that Anambra state is not Imo state. The Imo state governor also seems not to pay attention, and it is not good for him.

Take for example, last week, Uzodimma organized "Igbo leaders" to visit the second Niger bridge project going on at Onitsha/Asaba. The event turned out to be "APC leaders" of Igbo extraction that actually visited.

BUT the event only managed to feature APC leaders from Imo and Abia states, and the new Ohanaeze leader imposed by Uzodimma. It was a show of APC, by APC, for APC.

However, the funny thing was that the only APC leader from Anambra state who participated in the event was Andy Ubah - a character that will never be voted for governor by Anambra citizens (he has failed serially in the past).
The rest of the Anambra APC leaders were conspicuously absent.

Next I shall discuss why APC will never win Anambra state.

Like I've said here in this forum before, APC is NOT a popular party in Anambra state FOR GOOD REASONS.

I've also said that a close family member is an APC leader, and during the last guber elections in Anambra state, he lobbied me strongly to support the APC campaign, and I flatly turned it down even when perks were attached to it.

Most Anambra people see APC as a form of abomination or "Alu or Aru". FACT!
Most Anambra people are well ahead in their understanding of what APC stands for.

In short, if you want to know what APC is about, just take a look at Nigeria today!
Do you like the Nigeria of today?

So, when Anambra people go to the polls and vote MASSIVELY AGAINST APC, and stand their grounds at the polling stations to defend their votes as happened in Edo state, the regime will have no choice than to accept the peoples choice.
That is what will happen.

The people angling for the position in APC don’t have the pedigree, mental capacity and vision. They have noting to offer to the state.

This needs to be repeated to sink into APC skulls.

Igbo proverb says that "It is only a stranger that can be deceived by long wrappers(the type won by men); every local knows the men suffering from scrotal elephantiasis".

In Anambra state, we know ourselves better than the Uzodimmas would ever have clue.

Anambra state is arguably the most politically developed/stable state in the East because a "revolution" of sorts has happened there before. The state has been TESTED politically.

Anambra used to be like other states: criminal looters and brigands running everything.
It ended when Peter Obi defeated those brigands and was reinstated as governor after he was illegally impeached.

But then, something else happened after...

Anambra peoples came together to vow that they would NEVER AGAIN allow chaos they witnessed during Ngige and the Ubah brothers saga to ever come back to the state.

Ever since that time, PDP, APC and other "national parties" started losing elections consistently in Anambra state. The state then started to know real peace and progress, and EVERY Anambra citizen (including PDP and APC members) started to enjoy the state!

The state has enjoyed uninterrupted peace and development for above 16 years straight now.

NOBODY IN ANAMBRA STATE WANTS A RETURN TO THOSE DARK AGES OF POLITICS.

So, on election day, when the usual losers lose, they will go home and allow the state to continue enjoying peace and development.

Obiano has his shortcomings, but he is still following the template of peace and sustainable development in Anambra state, and his APGA successor will continue in that "Peter Obi legacy".
