Akwa Ibom govt vows to demolish juju shrines for road works: Metro : Nigerialog.com - Nigeria's Premier Online Forum
This matter "nor be small tin oh". The issue, to me, is justice.Did the government pay fair compensation on the demolished properties or not?I'm not even going to look at it from the angle the government wants to put it, which is that the buildings were erected AFTER the project had been approved. The way the "gods" look at things, is to determine whether someone has been treated unjustly, especially if the petitioning party is weaker than the accused. The government is the accused (in the eyes of the gods), and they better be fair minded and have clean hands. They better be doing the roads for the benefit of ALL and not for power show, else ...Some of these local gods are vicious in fighting the cause of the weak, and that is why the weak sometimes go to them. Some of us who serve the Most High God may not support these people who serve local gods, but I still understand that all gods fight against injustice whenever they are petitioned by the weaker party. All parties to this issue are Akwa Ibomites; so let wisdom prevail.
