Healthy nails are attractive and hygienic. Nails might seem like such a small part of our anatomy, but they are just as important as the hands they are attached to. The state of the nails can often reflect the state of the hands.

To grow longer nails that are strong and not prone to breakage, you should do the following:

• Stop biting. This is a bad habit that leaves you with chipped nails, and there are germs in and around the nails that can be transferred to the mouth, causing unsightly infections.

• Your nail cuticles and nail bed should be kept healthy in order to encourage nail growth.

• Fixing of fake nails can be the shortest cut to unhealthy, brittle and cracking nails. Instead of fixing fake nails which can damage your nails, put nail polish on your bare nails.

• When coating your nails with nail polish, do not overlook the use of a base coat and top coat. They protect your nails from the nail polish and make it last longer.

• The following vitamins will encourage nail growth: vitamin C, vitamin A, biotin and folic acid.

• Use a hand cream, preferably one that contains hyaluronic acid and castor oil.

The first point on the list is very common habit of some individuals. They are ignorantly stunting the growth of their nails. They should try to stop such so that they can have healthy nail growth.
