Food waste is Nigeria is a by-product of poor power supply. In the US, one can cook a whole month food and stock up the fridges with them, being sure that power will be there to keep the foods fresh whenever they are thawed.
Power is the main culprit here, because Nigeria does not even produce enough food, talk of having excess that can be thrown away.

Dad said in Bulgaria, you'd pay for every ounce of food in your trash. Hehehe according to kilo. And when you order in restaurants and you leave any food on your plate, you pay for it. Hehehe.
